WHAT HAPPENED?

Reddit is making a much more serious push into measurable lead generation.
On October 6, Reddit introduced an expanded lead-gen stack designed to connect advertising more closely with CRM workflows, qualified demand and pipeline outcomes, rather than stopping at the form submission.
Reddit Inc
Reddit wants to turn the conversations already happening inside its communities into demand advertisers can actually measure.
1. WHAT REDDIT ACTUALLY CHANGED

Reddit's lead-gen product can now connect more of the journey between finding a prospect and understanding what happened to that prospect later.
WHAT'S NEW:
Max campaigns for lead generation — automated campaign settings and creative rotation.
In-market audiences — Beta — including categories such as Enterprise & Business AI and Cybersecurity.
HubSpot integration — Open Beta — attribution, reporting and account setup.
Audience partners — including Bombora, Demandbase, Clay and G2 through Bombora.
Pipeline measurement — including Octane 11 and Dreamdata, with Dreamdata currently in alpha.
Reddit says advertisers using its in-market audiences saw an average nearly 7% improvement in CPA versus other first-party targeting options.
More importantly, Reddit is connecting campaign activity to the systems B2B advertisers already use to judge lead quality.
Reddit already had people discussing products before buying them.
What's changing is the advertiser's ability to connect that intent to CRM and pipeline outcomes.
2. WHY IT MATTERS FOR ADVERTISERS

The important shift is simple:
Reddit wants advertisers to measure what happens after the lead.
For B2B marketers, that's important.
A $50 lead isn't necessarily better than a $100 lead.
One could become a customer.
The other could disappear inside the CRM.
Reddit's expanded integrations create an opportunity to evaluate campaigns using metrics closer to the actual business:
Qualified lead rate.
Opportunity rate.
Cost per opportunity.
Pipeline generated.
Reddit doesn't become a serious B2B performance channel simply because it connects to a CRM.
But it becomes much easier to evaluate when advertisers can ask: Did these conversations eventually create pipeline?
3. Here’s an Explainer!

Imagine a cybersecurity company trying to reach IT decision-makers.
People are already discussing vulnerabilities, vendors and security tools across relevant Reddit communities.
The advertiser launches a lead-gen campaign using Max.
Someone researching the category sees the ad and submits a form.
That lead enters the advertiser's CRM.
Suppose — hypothetically — Reddit generates:
$65 CPL
while LinkedIn generates:
$90 CPL
Reddit looks better.
But three months later:
Reddit opportunity rate: 10%
LinkedIn opportunity rate: 19%
Now the story changes.
The advertiser needs to ask:
How many Reddit leads become qualified?
How many become opportunities?
What is the cost per opportunity?
Which audiences actually produce pipeline?
THE SIGNAL
The cheapest B2B lead isn't necessarily the best lead.
4. WHAT ADVERTISERS SHOULD DO

First, connect measurement before scaling.
Define how Reddit leads will move through the CRM and how you'll distinguish leads from qualified leads, opportunities and customers.
Second, test Max against a benchmark.
Compare Max with existing Reddit activity using CPL, qualification rate, opportunity rate and cost per opportunity.
Third, test in-market audiences on downstream quality.
Reddit's early CPA numbers are interesting. What matters is whether those audiences create better business outcomes.
ORBIT. TODAY’s TAKE
Reddit's advantage isn't that people visit the platform looking for lead forms.
They go there to ask questions before making decisions.
Connecting those conversations to CRM and pipeline data could make Reddit much more interesting to B2B performance teams.
The question isn't whether Reddit can generate leads.
It's whether Reddit can turn community intent into revenue advertisers can prove.
